Due to continued growth within our group, we have excellent opportunity, in the for the role of Technical Manager. The role will be based in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. Reporting directly into the Chief Operating Officer and responsible for managing the Technical Customer ServiceTeam.
This responsibility includes managing all technical related aspects of the full product arrange; across all group territories.
The role requires interaction across customer types and internal sales divisions to handle sanitary, plumbing and tile products. From initial product introduction through to discontinuation, the Technical Manager will own relationships with internal stake holders, ensuring seamless new product introduction and guaranteeing technical performance levels throughout the life of the product. The role involves regular liaison and coordination with departmental heads and internal support departments.
In addition, the role has full responsibility for Property and Facilities in the UAE including all building related infrastructure, MEPF services, HVAC, permits and compliance.
Job description: • Manage the generation and preservation of company technical Intellectual Property and certification, including archiving/storage of designs, documentation of know-how, preparation of product certification approvals and general maintenance of the company’s technical IP portfolio. • Manage the technical team to provide product and other technical support to operational functions and customers in an efficient manner.
Manage and comply with all requirements for the environmental management portfolio and ensure compliance with ISO: 14001 2015 standards.
• Provide, either directly or indirectly installation advice and technical support as may be required on projects. • Improve within the technical department, the effectiveness of internal systems and processes wherever possible; increasing efficiency and reducing administrative overhead. • Manage the group’s technical function to meet KPI’s within the prescribed cost budget. • Ensure that the technical case data is updated and maintained on the company CRM. • Maintain relationships with key customers where necessary through frequent visits. • Foster a climate and culture where technical and quality issues are addressed effectively and promptly. • Manage the facilities team to ensure optimal uptime of all facilities in the UAE. • Coordinate and maintain all permits required for trading and operational purposes.
Core competencies: • Technical / construction industry qualification preferred. • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. • A proven track record of technical management preferably within the sanitary / construction / building related industry. • Ability to manage and guide a multicultural team to their full potential. • Attention to detail and accuracy are a key requirement. • Ability to work and contribute within a team environment. • Ability to work to deadlines and perform accurately in pressure situations. • Strong personality, presentation skills and hands on mentality. • Computer literacy with experience and knowledge of Microsoft office; experience with any major ERP system an advantage. • A high level of commercial understanding is desirable. • The ability and willingness to travel at short notice. •
